Estimated Reading Time: < 1 minute

Paeonius of Ephesus was a local of Ephesus who lived between 420 and 380 BC. Paeonius was one of the greatest architects of his time. Chersiphron was the original architect of the Temple of Artemis in Ephesus but following his death Paeonius and Demetrius the architect took over the construction.

Even though the Temple of Artemis is nearly completely gone today the second of Paeonius’ works is in a wonderful shape today. This construction is the temple of Apollo in Didyma today.
