How Long Does an Ephesus Tour Take?
Most guests spend between two and four hours inside the ancient city itself. For a half-day tour of about three to four hours, we explore the main archaeological site at a relaxed pace. For a full-day tour of about six to seven hours, we add the House of the Virgin Mary, the Terrace Houses, the Basilica of Saint John or the Ephesus Museum, and a peaceful stop in Şirince village for lunch.

A favourite route is to begin at the upper gate and walk gently downhill, so the tour is easy on the legs. We pass the Odeon and the civic centre, stroll down Curetes Street past the Temple of Hadrian and the Trajan Fountain, step into the Terrace Houses if you wish, and arrive at the breathtaking Library of Celsus. From there we reach the Great Theatre, where Saint Paul’s silversmiths once rioted, and finish at the lower gate. Afterwards, if time allows, we drive up the quiet pine-covered hill to the House of the Virgin Mary.
